Engleside

After the death of Lt. Nicholas Warfield's mother, Elizabeth Snowden, on June 16, 1866, Henrietta Stabler Snowden moved from Avondale to Engleside, the home of her parents. There she raised the children she had with Lt. Nicholas Snowden. This home survives to the present time. In 2001, Jean Keenan and Dr. George A. Scheele visited Engleside in Ashton, Montgomery County, MD and spoke with the current owners, who have maintained the home in excellent condition and under the name of "Ingleside" (See "Maps on Family Country") .
